Gold Rush is a community FIRST Robotics Competition team for high school students on the San Francisco Peninsula. Whether you've been building robots for years or have never picked up a power tool or written a line of code, there's a way in.
Design, build, program, compete.
High school students work with teammates and mentors to take a competition robot from a sketch to the field. No previous robotics, programming, or shop experience needed.
There's real work in mechanical design, fabrication, wiring, programming, CAD, strategy, media, outreach, and fundraising — an FRC team runs on more different skills than most people expect.
Share what you know.
Mentors teach, guide, ask good questions, and show students how the work gets done outside a classroom.
You don't need to be an engineer. Machining, electronics, CAD, software, project management, business, and communications experience all help.
